Our Lunch counter was the recipient of Stowe’s Readers’ Choice Award for the #1 Place to Grab a Quick Bite/Takeout 2 years in a row. We serve daily from 11 am until 4 p.m. and the lunch menu of The Butchery follows the same simple rule – only the best will do!


The Butchery opened in Stowe VT in 2017 after moving from Waitsfield VT. Jeff and Leah after many years of dedication to The Butchery decided to sell the business to retired and set sail down in the Caribbean.  Eric LaVigne, our current owner was a partial owner at Vermont Meat & Seafood Market for 10 years. During the first few years there, he was mentored by Eric Flegenheimer (aka Fleg) Fleg took him under his wing and taught him the ins and outs of the seafood industry and running great business. Eric L briefly took a year hiatus from the industry after selling to his partner in 2021. When he heard The Butchery was for sale, he knew it was time to get back to what he loves! Great Meat & Seafood. Eric purchased The Butchery in October of 2022. Since then, he has worked diligently to rearrange to store to make room for more and more products you will love.
